I have done some research and I have decided to make a speaker cable. First, what would the sonic difference of a solid core speaker wire verses a streaded speaker wire?

So then tell me if I'm wrong. To make a basic cable could you twist two 14 guage speaker wires together and get some Mylar braided sleeves...1/4" spades...heat shrink tubes... and maybe some wire pants. So...I'm not to sure how to do it but the I learned made sense. The reason why I'm doing this is because the parental unit is against me paying 80 bucks on speaker cable. All the supplies will be bought from Parts Express catalog.
