I have read that speaker cables should all be same length and gauge. Does this mean surrounds the same and mains the same, or ALL the same? |

Ideally you want your speaker wire runs to be as short as possible. It is recommended to keep the speaker wire length the same for each pair of speakers in your home theater system. |

In my opinion, the equal speaker cable length requirement is a myth. As long as your speaker cables are of a reasonably heavy gauge (low resistance), you can use whatever lengths you want. For speaker cables, I would recommend 16 AWG or higher (preferably 10-14 AWG). I hope this helped. Regards, John Coleman Cobalt Cable |
