Are bare wire speaker connections to your amp the best way to go? Logic would seem to say so. You are making the most direct connection possible.

I see bananna plugs similar to doing your video switching through your AV reciever instead of directly thought the TV. The more transfer points the more change of degredation of signal.

Some people might say bananna plugs spread the contact points of the wire over a greater surface. But I would think the connection would only be as good as the bare wire to the bannana plugh. So why not do that directly to the amp?

Banana plugs, lugs and pins are just neater when auditioning multiple speakers since they usually do not involve any screwdrivers or freyed wires.
