Is there an adapter of some sort that will make mono into stereo? I don't plan on getting a new TV until this summer when I get a LCD HDTV.

If you use a cable box you can hook up the left and right audio channels to a in expensive stereo using cheap plastic RCA Cables and connect the yellow video RCA cable to the TV. You can have a much better sounding TV for well under $60. That is how you can experience stereo with a mono TV.
