Hi, I have a Onkyo HTS 570 and would like to purchase separate speaker wires for the speakers and not use the one supplied by the Company as I heard they are not that good. While looking for Speaker wires I saw something called Gauge. My question is which one should I go? I more guage means the speaker wires will be of good quality? Any suggestions please? Thanks |

The smaller the number, the thicker the wire. Go with a minimum of 16 gauge wires, 14 wouldn't hurt. |

Thanks David for your reply. Will there be any difference in Sound Quality if I go with 16 Gauge rather than 14 or is 14 guage wire selection dependant on the speaker. Does all speakers can take any gauge wires or they are specific based on the type of home theatre. |

I doubt that you will hear any differences in sound quality. Here's something for you to read; http://www.audioholics.com/techtips/audioprinciples/cables.htm |

If you don't have extra long wires, 16 gauge is sufficient. |
