..and I don't really know much about anything related to electronics, but I figured I should plug my tv, etc into smth nicer than the wall. I've been looking at http://www.monstercable.com/power/lineHTPower.asp but I don't really know what I need/want. So assuming I don't have a lot of money, what should I get? |

No question is stupid! It depends on how many outlets you need. I would get the chapest surge protector on that webpage (just make sure you get one that protects also your video signal like cable wire and such) and see what kind of insurance they have if something in your system gets fried because of a surge. Just remember, if a lightining strike hits your house, no matter what you have your stuff is going to be fried. Then if the area you live in as a lot of brown-outs or you see lines on your TV (not due to the video signal quality)then I would buy a power conditioner that cleans your electricity a bit. It also depends on what you are trying to protect. A $300 TV or a $5,000 sound system? Good luck to you! |

GTF...that looks like a no nonsense approach. Do you have some sort of warranty/guarantee for your products and the equipment it intends to protect? |

Sorry Berny. I don't have any affiliation with elect-spec. I am just a customer. I learned of them from Sandy Gilman of Audio Den, Lake Grove, NY about 20 years ago when I bought my first ARC preamp and amp. SP6A & D100b (guessing about time) eMail Frank over there. He'll let you know. |
