Hello all,

I've just bought and pair of standmount speakers (wharfedale diamond 9.1) and speaker stands (mission stancette) and there is no apparent way to connect the speaker to the stand, am i missing something here but i was under the impression that rock solid fitting was important in quality of music and therefore is purely sitting the speakers on the stand sufficient???

Try the speakers with and without attachment to the stand. Some standmounted speakers sound better when they are allowed to sit free of the stands. Try the speakers on some short cones or a few pennies sitting on top of well damped stands. Too often people accept an idea they have heard as an effective tweak and do something without thinking or without listening. Even a single sheet of paper towel placed between the stand and the speaker will decoupled the speaker without creating a cavity that could cause resonances to develop. Do damp the stands as you do not want them to contribute to the overall sound of the speaker.
