Can someone answer this question please.. my reciever has these video inputs and outputs so that i can connect my dvd to and my monitor. Why would i want to pass video through my reciever anyway? isn't it best to connect the video cables directly from the dvd player to the monitor? |

No need to pass the video through the receiver, it is more of a convenience. |

Thank you Berny! I was under the impression that i'd be missing something if I didn't pass it through the rest of the equipment. |

If your TV has the usual basic composite inputs, you can connect the extra unit to it via those. |
