V, Inc. Bravo D2 Digital Media Player
V, Inc. is offering outstanding value in the Bravo D2. If you own a digital display with a DVI input, you are making a monumental mistake in not auditioning the Bravo D2. If you are on a budget, buying the Bravo D2 affords the luxury of spending less on your disc transport and more on your display, speakers and processor. I could see the Bravo D2 fitting in comfortably with any DVI-enabled display and a mid-priced home theater receiver from Denon, Pioneer, Yamaha, Marantz, Integra or Sony. Add speakers and you are on your way to exceptional home theater without going broke. I can also see many home theater enthusiasts using the Bravo D2 exclusively for DVD and buying a separate SACD or DVD-Audio player for high-resolution music. This would be a knockout combination and an ideal way to get the most bang for the buck when choosing components for your home theater set-up. [Read Full Review] @ AudioRevolution.com |

If you havent already, check out the VInc web site, www.vinc.com and get the version 10 firmware upgrade. You write it onto a CDR and load it in the machine and it corrects the lost settings problem and alters the brightness default setting. I have a D2 (it was recommended by the people I bought my projector from) and so far it's OK. My biggest gripe is that it has no Stop button on the front panel (!!) and when skipping CD tracks always seems to lose the first second or two of the next track. Since they can upgrade the firmware, they should alter the function of the eject button so the first you press it while a DVD is running it stops it. (Anyone listening?) |

Only reason I bought this DVD player is because it has the non-HDCP DVI connection. The DVI picture is great, but so many other problems with this player compels me to warn people not to buy it. 1. Remote is still brutal. 2. Usability is a nightmare, i.e. sometimes only the remotes eject button works, not the eject button on unit itself. 3. turning power off with switch on unit cause default settings to be wiped out. 4. output voltage was too weak to traverse a 30 foot dvi cable 5. unpausing after paused for a minute causes 5-10 second re-buffering 6. display on unit went dark/kaput after maybe 10 uses, my buddy's after 3 uses. He returned his and they sent him a new one with same issue. 7. tech support in general is mediocre. 8. occasional video artifacts require CD reload 9. I've had to turn power off and back on to get a CD out, causing default settings to be wiped. Please, do yourself a favor and don't buy this product. And if this is a big improvement over the D1, then I'll extrapolate that to expect not much better from the D3. |
