BatterySpace Battery packs
I found out about BatterySpace from a student of mine who had experienced great satisfaction with their customer service and with their products. I purchased one universal smart charger for 2.4v-7.2v Ni-MH and Ni-Cd and six 6v 2000 mAh Ni-MH battery packs for the school where I work. These products were purchased for an introductory robotics course and an intermediate course we offer though the Computer Science department at Wheat Ridge High School in Colorado. The battery packs and charger have been instrumental in effectively supporting these projects and courses because they allow students to focus on the programming side of the robotics without worrying about when the batteries will die.
The students attach the five-cell battery packs to a simple robot body to power a BrainStem microcontroller, the motors, and sensors attached to it. The battery packs are used almost every day during the school year, and have to be recharged twice per week, whereas we were switching alkaline batteries sometime three times per week. The fact that the batteries are rechargeable saves Wheat Ridge High School large amounts of money every month, but the battery packs also last longer than the standard set of alkaline batteries used before There are two teams working on these courses for two weeks at a time. We have had great luck with the batteries supporting these projects. The battery packs are extremely well made and stand up to the daily use of these high school students in these courses. We have not had any issues with the battery packs coming apart of getting loose.
Prior to these BatterySpace battery packs we used regular 9 volt batteries as well as other rechargeable batteries. The cost of the BatterySpace battery packs was extremely cost effective compared to our previous solutions. We were going through several batteries a week, which was very frustrating to the students and costly for the school. The robotics course usage drains the batteries significantly during the exercises the students perform. With our BatterSpace solution, the students/teacher can easily set up the battery packs that are low to charge at the beginning of the class period and have it ready to use later in the class. With the six packs we purchased, we are ensured that each project team is set up with fresh batteries to use each day. We can eliminate low batteries as one of concerns for the course. The cost of six battery packs is easily more cost effective than the number of batteries we were purchasing before.
As a Computer Science teacher, I will need the types of products that BatterySpace offers on a regular basis. My experience with the ease of the ordering process, the quality of the products and the great customer service my students have experienced will keep me and my school as repeat customers.
The only slight confusion that we have found over the course of the school year is that the light on the battery charger does not turn green when the battery pack is fully charged. However, the convenience that we have experienced far outweighs this situation.
