I have a legacy LA970 amp 1200 watt, I put #12 to the power and with all the boost adjustment turned down i get a so so green light that im getting power when you start uping the boost it goes completely off. So i thought i need bigger wire so i put #10 to it now the green light dosen't even get power, i cant understand that one. and now i put #4 gauge with a with a 1 ferad compasitor to it and it shows that im not getting any power, all my hookups are right and im getting a good ground so that compasitor should of pumped enough power to make it work. does anyone know what might be going on thanks if you can help.

a: if it's 1200w RMS (which it isn't) you NEED 4AWG minimum to avoid starting a fire.

b: it's "capacitor" and they don't do anything useful.

c: nothing personal but Legacy is junk. The amplifier probably failed as you were upgrading the wiring.

If you want a better amp, look at JBL or Cadence.
cheapest amp companies worth considering.
