If the subs are 4 Ohms per coil, you'll wire the coils in parallel (pos1 to pos2, neg1 to neg2) and put one sub on each of the two channels.
that'll be a two Ohm stereo load.

yessir.
as long as the amplifier channels are balanced, then yes everything will be balanced.
I ran my IASCA competition setup this same way.
a single two-channel amp with two DVC subs, one per channel..
worked splendidly.

I got 2 12" audiobahn subs that they say are rated at "1100w" whatever. but what amp do you recommend I get. I usually try to match amps with sub brand. ( audiobahn amp to audiobahn sub). I'm not rich so I need a amp that wont kill my pocket book but will also push these subs.

try a JBL BP600.1
600W x 1 @ 2 Ohms.
1 Ohm stable (same output power as 2 Ohms)
www.etronics.com $210 US
good amplifier.
If you go up to the BP1200.1 for twice the power, you'll need a new high output alternator, no question.
You may be ok with the 600.1

easily, and by wiring both subs to the amp.
it has two sets of speaker terminals just for what you want to do.
also if you use a pair of Y-splitters on the RCA inputs, the amp will perform at it's best (it offers 4 RCA inputs for front and rear, left and right channels so that fader won't affect the sub performance if your head unit doesn't offer separate sub outs)

you can download the manual for the amp from www.jbl.com to read up on it

It is a stock head unit so I'm using line out convertor. but I still dont understand how to hook up 2 dual voice coil speakers into one channel. I do understand hooking up coils in parallel. If you have a wire diagram that would help me more than words. I'm thinking you hook up the coils in parallel and just hook up the speakers to the one channel. is that how it will work.

the mono amp has two pair of speaker terminals.
you connect one speaker to each pair of terminals (pos and neg)
that's all there is to it.
wire the coils in parallel.
the JBL is 1 Ohm stable.
