What if the amp is 400 watts at 2ohm with a 30amp fuse. Can i use 4 gauge wire?

Yes, it could damage the amplifier. And anon, you can use 4 gauge, but as you probably know, it's overkill. It won't hurt anything. 8 guage would work for a 400W amp, but the good thing about 4 guage is it leaves you plenty of room to upgrade. You may have trouble fitting 4 guage in the terminal, though.
