I just had a new system installed in my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix:

HU - Pioneer DEH-P7600MP
Amps - Rockford Fosgate 500x
------ JL Audio 500/1
Front Speakers - JL Audio 5.25" Component
---------------- VR525-CSi
Rear Speakers - Factory 6x9 (powered by HU)
Sub - JL Audio 10W7

I am missing most of my midrange! What can I do to fix this hole?

Please let me know if you can think of any (relatively) inexpensive ways to fix this problem!

And let me know what you think of my system.

Thanks!

The 7600 deck should have a 3-band equalizer that the user can adjust to compensate for the lack of or overpowering presence of certain bands of sound. Also I believe it comes with 6 or 7 different music type settings ( ie, bass, rock, voice, etc..) and one of these settings will "remember" your EQ settings.

Your mid range may be over powered by the Loud setting too if that is on. Try turning it off or adjusting the amount of boost to see if it helps.

Another problem could be that the sub is overpowering the whole system and masking the mid and higher end sounds.

Your system has a ton of choices. Pull out the Users manual and just start playing til you get it the way you want it.

If all eles fails, bring it back to your installer and explain your problem. More than likely they can help you out. Good luck.
