800 watts at what impedance? What is your budget? |

ok the box is 4 Ohms mono? that's going to be tricky to get that much power then. try the JBL BP1200.1 for about $285 that'll put out 600WRMS at 4 Ohms, mono. www.etronics.com sells this amp for a good price. |

nope, JBL is just the cheapest decent amplifier line around. that or cadence. audiobahn is total crap IMO. I don't sell anything anymore. I got out of sales years ago. I just install now, and I only install decent equipment.. heh

so...the jbl pushes 600 watts at 4 ohms mono. that will be sufficient for a setup that requires 800 watts rms? |

the 1200.1 puts out about 700WRMS on a scope, at 4 aOhms, and the subs have a max RMS rating of 800 watts, so yes, the 1200.1 wqill drive them just fine with no worry of damage, as long as the amp gains are set properly.

sorry about the typos there. I was tired. I spent the last few days solid workin' on the system in the Jeep, and mounting some Hella 550 fog lamps before the snow gets any worse up here. It's chilly in the garage, even with heated floors, and I'm starting to think I'm getting too old to be crawling around engine compartments and under dashboards. haha
