I need some adivce. I bought a kick kx1200.1 amp (1200watt rms) and need a good wiring kit. Can anyone tell me the difference between: - 4 gauge and 8 gauge wiring kit and which is best for the amp. - Which brand is most suitable for the amp - and how many watts should it be thx

4 guage wire is about twice the diamater as 8 guage. Since electricity is repeled by itself it travels down the outside of a wire bundel. So with the 4 guage you have a higher flow of current, with a lower resistance. For a 1200 watt amp, run the 4 guage. |

if you run that amp at 1 ohm to get 1200 watts, you'll need at least 4ga cable depending on distance. the gauge of cable you need for power and ground is determined by current draw and distance. 1200 watts is about 115A of current at full output from that amp.
