I spoke to both of u before regarding infinity kappa perfects, and u were both very helpful!

Ive now fitted them and they sound very good until i turn the volume up high. Im getting a strange sudden high pitch sqheel. Is this what u call clipping? If not, what do u think it might be? How can i cure the problem?

Im running a 4 channel jbl amp rated at 75w RMS x 4 @ 4ohms. Now i know this isnt really sufficient power for the 100rms kappa perfects, but could this be causing the problem?

I recently read a thread with u 2 having a big debate about under powering the kappa perfects....

Any help would be great. Thanks ;)

Yep, that's clipping. Don't do it any more -- it will burn your tweeters. Make sure any gains are turned flat or negative.

Those Perfects need 100W RMS to operate at a full range.

Okay thanks matt. I thought it was clipping. I sold my Jbl amp so need to buy a new amp.

Ive heard you and jonathan mention the HiFonics Zeus ZX400 amp many times before. Do you highly recommend it for the Kappa Perfects?

As im from England there is no-where i can purchase one from, so i think a world wide shipper on Ebay is my best bet :-)

The ZX4000 is the easiest choice for the Perfects, because it's right at RMS and a good amp for the money.

There's one on eBay (UK) that'll ship worldwide right now for £89 (plus shipping):
