currently im in the process of buying 2 Shiva 12's w/ JBL600.1 amp, but i was also told i should buy a components kit. i was looking at my stock speakers and found that they are all 4x6s. what components will fit this size and what amp will drive them? will i need an adapter and where can i find one? |

i found the CDT Audio CL-4 4" Middbass/Midrange Driver Classic Series CL4 @ http://www.purecaraudio.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=316 for 69$ i found an adapter for my 4x6's to fit the 4incher @ http://www.scosche.com/scosche/speakers/adapters.asp should i grab those then look for some tweeters? let me know whats up |

Boston (and others) make a 4x6 plate set that would be more appropriate.

would you suggest the 4x6 plates? i have no idea how good their sound is so im just going to ask you. i was also looking into kick panels then purchasing some infinity kappas. would the infinity component set bring alot more life to my system, or would the plate sound pretty good? would i need them for just the front or should i replace the rears as well? what do you think matt |

You'll probably have decent legroom in that truck for a set of q-forms to fit well. They'll most likely be your best bet -- you can't get lower midbass from a 4" driver without a lot of work. Depending on the particulars of the truck, you may be able to get a professional to make 6.5" openings for you for about the same price, though, so ask around. Truck doors and dashes tend to be pretty roomy, so you should be able to find someone who can do a good job.
You will get better sound by only replacing the fronts.
