Hey guys, right now i got the jl audio 500/1 amp and i'm using to audiobahn 15's.. unfortunately the amp is blowing the hell out of the subs and they can't handle the amp so i'm getting a jl 12w6 from my friend for cheap and i was wondering if that could handle the amp better. Also the w6 is kinda old and is a single voice coil. Any help would be great.

I think you will be happy with that combo. As for compatibality, the w6 is alot better match then the 2 15's.

If it's an older W6, I'd recommend not using it. The older W6's were rated at 300W RMS, and the JL 500/1 actually puts out between 600-700W RMS. A newer 13W6v2 would run very well off a 500/1.
