Has anyone used these speakers? Do they loose
low end response from being slim mounts?

They still manage to have a decent Xmax (4mm) compared to most other 6.5" components. That's why they're a premium price. Probably the best slims on the market, actually.

My local audio installer advised that although 6.5 Focal 165V slims would just (to nearest mm!)fit in my car door, I should go with the smaller 5.25 Focal 130V slims because there is more available space around them which would give a better sound. Does this make sense to folks - I didn't get it!
