I'm peeking into a New head unit for our 2004 gmc ext cab 1500. Some brands have sirrus and some have xm radio ready. What is the difference? quality, reliability, etc. also what is a good unit to look at Clarion?, Alpine? Not looking for competiton grade equipment but not junk either. The last head unit i bought was about 7 years or so ago so brand quality has changed as did technology( a Denon headunit) here is what i know i want in a head unit price 500 0r less preferable high quality around the 250-350 range. 3 pair of preouts 4 volts cd changer! I do not care for bells and whistle, i like high quality stuff, well made stuff that can handle the potholes of Upstate New York... nothing kenwood, sony,.

What did you end up getting? I have a 2003 GMC with a factory Bose system, and am looking to replace the head unit with an Alpine that I plan to have integrate with the existing sub and speakers. If you've done this, how does it sound? |
