I recently had to replace all my sparkplugs and wires due to a misfire. from my knowledge its from the alternator struggling to keep up the power. So, what are the drawbacks of having a h/o alternator? does it put stress on the engine? its a 96'JGC with 115k miles on it. Glass i know you have a GC, and your knowledge would be great on this. thanks. |

only real drawback is cost. 165A denso drop-in replacement is about $200. you're talking around 865 watts per 1 horsepower so you're not losing any real power from drag on the belts.
