I recently purchased a rockford fosgate 900 watt amp to power my sony subs. now i want to buy new speakers for the rest of the car and i'm not sure what to get. I have 6.5 speakers in the front and back so im not sure if i should just invest in good fronts or both. Also im kind of new to this so i dont know whether i'll need another amp to power more speakers. Any suggestions?

Absolutely fronts first. Whether you choose sets that require an amp is up to you; with more power (generally) comes more quality.

As always, what's your budget?

Consider getting Infinity Kappa Components for the front, then a JBL P180.2 for the amp. Right in your price range and excellent components for the price.
