I have a friend whom I am helping out...

He has a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. He has a pair of Boston Acoustic 6x9't that he wants to put in place of the chevy stock 6x9's. I took out the stock 6x9's and found that there is 4 wires running to the stock speakers. I am assuming 2 for the woofer and 2 for the tweeter.

We tried wiring it a couple different ways to no avail.

I really dont know which wires go to what on this damn thing.

Can someone please enlighten me. I have been looking online for hours, the car's manual says crap.

Driving me nuts!

Thanks in advance,
Cullan

You can get factory adapters (since you're not replacing the wire anyway) for $5.95:

Otherwise:
Left front tweeter +: Black wire
Left front tweeter -: Yellow
Left front speaker +: Dark blue
Left front tweeter -: Light blue
Right front tweeter +: Light green
Right front tweeter -: Purple
Right front speaker +: Orange
Right front speaker -: Dark green

I just paid my 99 chevy cavalier off in full and I am now looking to invest the car note into the car. I do not know where to start as far as what kind of speakers I will need to put in it. I am getting a new 52 watt CD player installed in it tommorrow and I will soon need to upgrade my speakers for a reasonable price.

ANY SUGESSTIONS?

How much are you looking to spend (specifically), who's going to be doing the work (yourself or a shop), and are you looking for power or quality?
