hey fellas,im new here and fairly new to doing my own installations i have a 99 honda civic and this is what i installed in it. sony cdx5850(a few years old) kicker preamp kq5 a2200hct audiobahn amp(1 year old) specs-200x2@4ohms stereo 400x2@2ohms stereo 600x2@1ohm stereo 1600x1@1ohm mono 2 pbx:::--es12ds subs (awesome,if anybody wants to know about these) probox superbass ported 2.25cu.ft a side. yellowtop optima battery.i already have this installed and it sounds awesomehit 144.1 on meter. my question is , is having my subs hooked to .5 ohms going to burn up my amp only had hooked up for 2 days now and seems to be ok but i want to be safe-also what is the best adjustment for amp(hz etc....)thanks for advise. |

sorry,but im a newbie,subs are 600rms-1200 max/at .5ohm what wattage is going to them |

Howell thats not a good idea running that low. Your lucky its even working at all. If your specs are right then its a 2 channel amp. And the subs are 2 ohm DVC. You need to wire each sub for a 1ohm load. Then hook each sub to its own channel. Because if you keep running the amp that low you are going to burn it up. Heres a link to help with wiring. unless the amp is rated for half ohm stability, don't run at that load. |
