Hi, I recently got done constructing a competition grade custom subwoofer enclosure(small sealed, for 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 dual voice coil subs, which have 350rms, 1400 peak each. I am looking for opinions on what amp/ amps would best complement this setup. I value sound quality and clearness over pure SPL, and am looking for a clean sounding amp which puts out 300-350rms X 2, or 2 mono amps with 300-350rms X 1. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Thanks guys. I was not able to find the JL audio 600/1. It is also not on their website, so I am not sure they make that model. But I did find the 500/1 and the MMatsD700.4. Thanks again. Any more suggestions? |

JBL makes a good amp, but it doesn't exactly have the sound quality of competition amps. Great amps for a budget, though. I'd look at the JL 500/1 or possibly a Zapco Reference 1100.1 amplifier, are your subs dual 4 ohm? If they are, you could run the subs on a Zapco 1100.1 at a 4 ohm load, giving 800W, 400 per sub(a little overpowered, but not too much) and it's an AB amp, very clean amp. The MMats Matt mentioned above is also a fantastic amp. |
