Hey guys Me and a buddy was looking at amps just now when we ran across this amp. I thought it was so funny that an 1800watt amp only puts out 460watts RMS.

And some of these people wonder why we tell them to get new equipment. *laugh* 300 bucks for a 400 watt amp. Thats funny. Sorry but it would have to say JL Audio before I would pay that much for so little power.

It probably won't even do that. Maximum current draw is 40A. AB amp, so we'll be nice and say it is 60% efficient. at 14.4V with 40 amps, with a 60% efficiency, it is only capable of 345.6 watts. That's likely never attained. Pitiful. lol, though, 300 bucks? I could do a LOT better.

LOL your telling me. I wouldn't waste 100 bucks on that crappy amp it prolly last you a month (MAYBE). I just posted this to try and make a point. Why buy something like that and pay that much for it when you could do AWHOLE lot better. Thanks for making it a even better point Jonathan.

these two specs say it all:
2 x 150 Watts RMS @4 Ohms
2 x 230 Watts RMS @2 Ohms

look at the power loss going from 4 ohms to 2 ohms!
The better the amp is designed and built, the less you'll lose, and the closer to double the power you'll get at half the load.
With this amp, you're barely over 50% for a power increase at half the load.

No idea where they got 1800 watts either
it's about 450 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms bridged output (RMS)

Thats another reason why RMS power is so important to look at, Max Power dont tell you HARDLY nothing

Funny, that all audiophiles say Audionote Ongaku is the best amp in the world (tube amp), rated at some 25 W x 2 RMS, with about 500W x 2 peak!
Makes you wonder...
