I got a used kenwood receiver model krc-702. It did not come with the wiring harness that plugs in the back so I had to buy one. It only shows negative volume numbers and the cassette mechanism will not engage when I push a cassette in. I get beeping noises through the speakers from the unit when I press certain buttons, but no sound.
Anyone feel like they could be of some help with any of these questions?

the volume is shown in relative scale in decibels. that's normal.
the cassette portion is apparently broken.
good old kenwood reliability.
I hope ya didn't pay too much for it. repair will run around $100-150 on average.
