Just to make sure i am calculating this correct. A mono amp listed at 150 Watts x 1 @ 4 ohm and 300 Watts x 1 @ 2 ohms would break down to 150 Watts x 2 @ 2 ohm split into 2 4ohm svc subs. If that is correct here are my amp choices I have limited it down to. Price is a big factor. What would you recommend. RF P3001 (new RF) $149 150Wx2 RF 301M (older RF) $129 150Wx2 JBL 600.1 $220 300Wx2 MTX RT251D $119 100Wx2 MTX Thunder251D $179 125Wx2 I figured with this that the JBL is a little to much for me and that the RF 301M is the best deal. i wonder why the older RF is cheaper with same output. i also thought older RF amps are underrated so that seems by far the best deal. please help please... thanks -DUff |

I'd go with the older RF series. You could always try a JBL 300.1 amp. What kind of subs are you running. |

this is true - a jbl 300.1 will put out 300w rms at 1 or 2 ohms |

i will be running 2 12" Sonys capable of a RATED 350 RMS but i dont want to try to push that much into them and dont think it is necessary. i also do not have the money available to buy an amp over 175 anyway . poor high school kid who just lost his job here. gotta love the SHH iat in our lives huh -DUff |

of the amps you listed, the best made one is the MTX Thunder line.

hey glass. you said the best made one is the MTX Thunder line. Is that the best buy of all these is more of the question im asking. And why is that ... last longer, underrated, better sound??? and is the RF 301M an old Rockford? If so arent they some of the best amps made still?? Thanks Glass |

Quality of the amp, sound quality, reliability, RF has slumped in their quality since they went commercial, and that 301M is included. JBL is good, but not the sound quality of the MTX. Early, early 90's RF was the good stuff, very hard to find now. |

durability, features, component spec quality, things like that.. all equates to a better overall amp. JBL is good, but they are basically the bottom end of things I recommend because they're affordable to jsut about anyone. They lack some things like infrasonic filtration which makes a big difference to a ported box.

road thunder is their "cheapy" product line, and not that great in general. there is a 300.1 and 150.1 yes

Ill tell you a better amp for under 150.00 Xtant A3001T. It can be had on ebay for around 120.00+ shipping. This amp will give you 300 rms at 2 ohms. Good thing about this amp is it puts out 300 rms from 12.5-14.4 volts at 2 ohms kinda of like JL amps and ive heard these amps are underrated. So I would go with that one before the other ones. |

Find a Cadence dealer You will be very happy you did. hehe purchase yourself cadence subs aswell. I've witnessed MTX subs being shattered to pcs by a cadence amp. THe amp was put in to the person setup replacing there kicker amp at the same rating and the cadence ripped them up. The person went home with the amp and a new subs and was very happy. |
