My hifonics amp protect light came on. I did a process of elimination and it is not my sub.

My local audio shop told me it was an internal fault. I am buyign the same amp soon because it matches my alpine type R the way i like it.

I dont want to run into this problem again so im just wondering why this was caused and what i can do to prevent it, or even, look into another amp?

Let me know what you guys think

when your amp turns on does it go straight into protect? or does it take the music playing to kick it into protect?

thats what hifonics amps are known for, breaking for no reason.

do yourself a favor and by something more reliable. how much are you looking to spend on an amp? what coils does your sub have?

Im pretty sure mine did the same, it lasted a while though so I chalked it up as a win for the 100 a spent on it.
