its a good tv the in house brands are on par if not better than some of the name brand tv's now a day. my only advice is go and look at it and chose the one that looks good to you and get one of the display tuneing dvd's that comes with the blue glasses and tune that b1tch. will look good.

I saw a 40" LCD Samsung 1080 P 120 Hz tv at Sam's Club last week for around $900. The picture quality was amazing and it wasn't even running on a blue ray disc player, standard dvd. Vizio are good tvs though.

Yeah I don't know about going with Vizio.

I just recently bought a new LCD TV and did a bunch of research and also joined a pretty well-known forum and actually they say Vizio isn't the greatest other than their new SVT series.

The brands I heard the most from them were Samsung, Higher End Sony's, and Panasonic. I ended up getting a Panasonic with only a 60 Hz refresh rate, but I love it and don't see any motion blur ever.

Now keep in mind just because it is a samsung or sony doesn't mean it is the greatest like Snow said the higher end Sonys are great same with samsung they still make those models that are for those who dont want to spend the big bucks. Probably still great TV's but just do your research I just bought a 46" Samsung and did mad research and have a super smart brother to help.

I guess all I'm saying is do research what matters to some may not matter to you

Join some forums too and ask around. I really had no idea about TV's and they all filled me in within a week or so and I am very happy with the purchase I made.

Yeah that's a good TV Sean. Panasonic makes some of the best plasma TV's. A lot of people always talk about the burn-in and such, but I was reading up on that also and it is not very much of a problem any more. Only thing is they perform best in dark rooms and are the better choice with movies. I was thinking about getting a plasma, but my room lets in a lot of light which is better for LCD's and my room isn't the biggest and Plasmas only come in sizes 42"+.

You probably won't tell the difference from 1080i to 1080p. Usually from viewing 4 feet or more, it is hard to even tell between 720p and 1080p.

I love my 46" I was bent on getting a 52" until I was told there is only about 1 inch more picture from top bottom and left and right so the difference between prices for 46 and 52 for what you were actually getting with the difference wasn't worth it

yeah mostly the only thing that plays in 1080p is blu-ray disc's. That is if your player supports 1080p.

Most games are in 720p and HD channels are 720p and 1080i.
