finished my box a lil while ago, now just waiting for my 2nd sub to come in. ups is taking longer than i had hoped.. Box for 2 FI ssd 12s. Box is 4.3ft^3 before displacements tuned to 34hz with 67.5 sq. in. of port. Heres just 3 random pics of the only 3 saws in the shop that i really use. Table saw, Circular saw, Panel Saw...
My stack after the cuts.
just a little technique i use to help me to staple the sides. kinda hard doing it by myself
both sides glued and nailed
just a size comparison...
after i took the router to the box and cut das holes!!
wasnt a really long build log, nor did it have many pictures. hope you guys enjoy though, and lemme know what ya think. |

doesnt look like you will be having nay port noise with that much port area. did you graph is at all to find out? Round out the edges of the port walls too. |

cory, just look at what your speakers require. most 12s require 2.2-5 cu ft per sub. then get the maximum dimensions you can use in your vehicle. then go to reaudio.com and use their speaker box calculator. it practically builds the box for you... |

get one of those little radial or whatever bits for your router and hit the whole box up to give it that "finished" look... after that no matter what you do to it for the final skin it looks good. i.e. carpet, paint, alligator skin that matches your car.. *btw everyone a guy at my stepdads work has red gator skin in a roll that he bought but cant use it now cuz he doesnt know how to apply it is gonna sell it to me and im thinking of doin my seats in the center so theres a strip of red behind your back and the grey stock seats on the sides... $250 for everything.. yay or nay?* not thread jacking. |

haha nahh its cool dude.. and stapling has never failed me. ive actually had more problems screwing then snapling. its a type of staple(not sure of the name) that when sunk, it locks in the wood. they work rather well. they go in that green gun that u see sitting on top of my box hooked up to that air compressor. |
