Are all of your wires ran well? Power seperated from speaker wires? |

I have a pioneer dvd headunit not sure model off hand. good ground and good rca's. but all the wiring is ran under a false floor so it is possible when i pulled the wires back to switch amps that the power speaker wires got tangled, ill check it out |

Are you using a capacitor just before the amp? Some amps are more susceptible to background RF noise. Are your plug wires new? |

recheck the ground at the amp. if thats good, it may be the HU causing issues being its a pioneer. try the grounding the rcas at the HU and the HU case. Are you running a pair of rcas?if so, unplug one or the other and see if it stops. if so leave it unplugged, you only need one rca as its a mono signal. |

Ran across this definition if it helps "Alternator Whine A siren-like whining that appears when the RPMs of an engine increase. The noise is usually the result of a voltage differential created by more than one ground path or a poor ground path." |

turn down the gain on the amp. that's the most likely culprit. do you have it maxed out? |

Bad rcas bad ground alt whine Most common things, my friend Justin had to ground his rcas to stop it, it shhh-ed it quite a bit, I'll ask him tomorrow if he fixed it completely and get back with you. |

possible..Is the amp new? Now that its out, hook it up at the battery with short power and grounds. dont forget to jump the power to the rem, Use an ipod as a source, then connect to the speakers.. If the noise is still there, then its the amp or speakers. try another speaker at the amp. btw, what size wire are you uing for power and ground? the ipod will rule out any HU and rca issues. Being that close to the battery with power and ground will rule those out as well. |
