im am going to be buying two alpine type r 12". i dont know what amp to buy. I want them to slam but the amp cant overheat. Im also looking at an Alpine CDA105 deck so the amp needs so be compatible with that as well. Should i buy a capacitor with thet too?

cap is optional. I would say get a good 1200 rms x 1, 1 ohm stable amp. AQ 1200d would work. Alpine makes a nice 1000 rms amp as well. Could go with RF or a MD.1D. Many, many options really.

Dont waste your money on a cap. Your gonna need an amp thats 1ohm stable then. This would be good for what need. http://www.audioque.com/aq/AQamps.htm

& a lot of people like running a aq to 2 type rs, but if yr looking to get 1200 watts the pdx 1000 birthsheet is about 1200+ on craigslist pdx 1000 go for 300 all god damn day lol FYI 4 gauge max

&+ make sure you do a proper instal, if you don't.. you won't like it.

p.s. Some people like runnin 1500 watts to a pair of em.
