I wasn't sure if any of you guys were aware of this company, based out of Green Bay, WI. Everything is machined and assembled in house besides the ferrite and baskets, all though the baskets will soon be machined in house as well. The owner John Janowitz has over a decade of experience at building subwoofers. He worked with Thilo at TC Sounds/Audiopulse and developed several technologies for subs such as the LMS coil and helped tool the first TI motors which are now widely used on 4" VC motors. Well John makes a 500w SQ sub that he had some people speculating against so he came down to me for a few days to test it out. Everything is hand tooled to the .0005" which I found pretty impressive. Single medium strength nomex spider and a 2.5" flat wound copper coil. We did a direct drop in test to one of my SPL test boxes. Which is a 4.5cube box tuned to 45hz. Heres some pics and vids, I will allow those to do the rest of the talking. Heres a pic of Nick Barnett basement that John just finished up using some of his subs. Nick is super happy with it. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc256/usask8er1/PICT2862.jpg The sub http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc256/usask8er1/IMG_4206.jpg http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc256/usask8er1/IMG_4204.jpg Playing through tones http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc256/usask8er1/?action=view¤t=MVI_4193 .flv A bassrace average with a bad start http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc256/usask8er1/?action=view¤t=MVI_4195 .flv After the TL testing we did some real testing. Is there a reason the cone doesn't meet the the spider to make a strong joint? or is it that they just did not want to pay for the proper tooling? |

They tool it all here by hand, so money wouldnt be the issue, im not sure but I can ask John the owner. DD Zs do the same thing though and im sure its not because of that. |

I am on CAF and I would not call it "speculating against" when EVERYONE he sold the woofer to had issues and were sent back to be waiting 3 months for repair. |

John once again you sir are an idiot, do not ruin yet another thread on this forum. Lets lay the facts out. Three, count them three woofers had been blown between two people. Three out of several hundred is not EVERYONE. You sir need to learn how to count. Also one sub broke due to a failure point in the spider. Not even sure the last sub is broken. The user described it as what could only be known as using a DC current, he claims the subwoofer is broken because it only moves one direction. There is no possible way to break a sub so it only moves one direction, that is caused when an amp has failed to the point where it only puts out DC. |

I beleive John will actually be coming down with me to the Manitowac show, you can meet him in person. Hes a really cool guy and im sure he will bring some demo subs. The subs were designed for HT builds but he has enough faith in them that hes been having me test them to SPL subs for car audio. I would love to see you do a drop-in test against the revo, it would be an interesting matchup. All though the revo will win on the sexiness scale lol. |

Yeah that would be interesting. I'd definitely be up for a drop in test with the Revo. |

Nice looking sub. I've talked to John at AE on several occasions and he is a very knowledgeable guy. |
