alarm system activates when tailgate is lowered or bumped. locking and unlocking doors does not deactivate the alarm system. Locked out starter truck will not start. Anyone know how to deactivate the alarm and start the engine

sounds like the brain is about fried. I would try to put it in valet mode. If it is a clifford you can do it via the remote, or the coded valet switch. If it is another brand the manual should tell you how to put it into valet mode.
