I just bought a 98 Audi but dont have the stereo code and i dont have the manual. What can i do to get it? I called the dealer but they said its about $65 to find out whats the code, but im just checking if maybe there is another way that is cheaper

Audi do not make radios but affix their badge on a radio manufactured by someone else ( eg Alpine , Grundig etc)

Unfortunately the majority can not have their codes calculated for free anywhere on the Internet.You have to obtain it from the Main Audi Dealer or a Radio Decode Specialist.

There are just 1 or 2 exception so what you have to do is

1...Quote the radio MAKE + MODEL
2....Quote ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS found on ANY LABELS , BARCODES + STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING of the radio .......but being realistic, the chances of obtaining your code for free will be verysmall.
