Are these real or fake? I just got them and I have no idea if they are genuine or not. I am hoping somebody here can ? 1) the serial numbers on the card and rear of woofer don't match. They don't match the fake serial number listed on this website either.
2) Centre of the woofer looks like it has had a re-cone / or isn't new?
I am not fully convinced they are genuine nor am I fully convinced they are fake. Heelp!! Either way, this will help any unsuspecting buyers differentiate by being able to compare. I purchased them on the net. Prior to purchasing, I asked if they were genuine, seller said yes. He has previously sold 3 copies of the same speaker and received good feedback for all. So I presumed they would be as he has stated. I am in Japan by the way. Here are the photos of the tweeters.

Weird, I would contact Focal directly and see what they say. There's really no other definitive source on the matter. The glue near the phase plug sure doesn't look right, at least to me... |

I contacted Focal and they require the speakers sent to them. However, they also mentioned. Because it wasn't direct from them, by the time the verify if they are fake / genuine I would have exceeded a reasonable amount of time to return them. I have contacted the seller, but if they are Genuine, is the glue around the phase plug ok? |

Yeah it really shouldn't cause any issues. I was just surprised by the appearance of it. You definitely wouldn't expect that out of a speaker of its price tag if it is authentic. |

In my experience, if you are going to buy focal, buy from an authorized dealor. I got a pair of 165v1s from an online site and found out they were fakes... |
