i took my system in and they said my amp is bad... idk how because its never been used... what do i do about this? should i take off the cover and see if there is anything i can see that is blown on it or should i take it into an audio repair shop? i don't want to have to deal with sending it back to AQ with my change in addresses and crap... what do you guys think?

DJ's a good guy. If you bought it directly from AQ, DJ should take care of you.

If it's never been used it's a warranty issue.

When you say you took your system in, who did you take it in to?

Don't take off the cover if it's never been used cause that could cause your warranty to go south.

How do you know your amp is bad if its never been used?

Is he saying its bad as in not quality (which is a bush league statement) or bad as in does not work?

This is the guy who was talking about taking his system to an audio shop....

Therefore I put put, oh, about zero confidence in this diagnosis.

i didn't diagnose anything, i took it to Audio Express, i know they aren't the best but they were the first place i could think of? how long is the warranty? becuase its been over a year since i've had this amp... its pretty banged up on the out side, it was in my trunk for a LONG time while i was in boot camp and my sis was driving with it in there and never took it out.... a lot of the paint on the sides is worn off so do you think this could have caused something to come loose?

The guys at the audio shop hooked up a normal speaker to the amp and there was nothing coming from the amp to the speaker...

SORRY... OT but, where do you live? Never heard of anyone else talking about Audio Express before except people that live around eastern NC.

Did the power light turn on?

Did they check to make sure the "master/slave" switch was on master?

I have sold amps to people and they came back b17ching about their new amp don't even work. The only problem was the switch.

Also, was the amp just rolling around in the vehicle?

The switch is next to the single RCA input. I has to be on master.

Also, yea...something could have been knocked loose if it was sliding around enough to knock paint off.
