Keep having an issue with the hood pin / system thinking the hood is open ('04 Highlander). I adjust the pin up a bit, and that seems to work for a few arm/disarm / starts, then I get error or the alarm goes off and it says 'hood open', which it isn't.

The wires that connect to the hood pin are slightly exposed - could that have something to do with it? It's snowing today, and the last time this happened, it was rain/ sleet. Should I wrap the connection up with electrical tape or something? Might that help?
