I am a newbe as well to this i would like to install my 6x9 speakers type r on my toyota corolla i just dont know how the type r speakers i bought are 2way and the type s speakers that are installed right now are 3way which means that it has 2 negatives and 2 positives? the new type r speakers i have just have one negative one positive? Please Help

2-way vs 3-way simply refers to the number of drivers used, not the number of terminals. 3-way coaxials are pretty much a gimmick.

Your Type S speakers only have a single set of terminals. Reference the pictures on Crutchfield if need be.

The Type R's will be better speakers than the Type S's....though neither one is all that great.

Are you installing these yourself?

Yea bro what do you recommend whats better for a corolla 04 ? 6 1-2 components for the front and for the back 6x9's?
