This amp would be great for two type r's correct? And if so i would want the 4-ohm type r's and wire them down to a 1 ohm load on this amp?

spend a bit more and get the 1606 (think that's the model #), hifonics' tends to overrate their amps a bit. and yes, you'll want the dual 4ohm subs to wire to a 1ohm load.

That Hifonics BXi1206D will work just fine but with shipping cost you will be around $245-$250 price range. So take a look at the AudioQue AQ1200D(1200x1@1ohm $249 shipped).

^^^ agree The hifonics bxi1608 will have trouble putting out what the AQ1200D WILL put out and for cheaper.
