i'm looking to install components but not sure which ones yet. what do you all think of a/d/s car speakers. i've never listened to them but have some 80's a/d/s home speakers and those things are amazing. i'm looking for a set that will play cleanly at loud volumes. i like the sound of the silk dome tweeters. also how much does a set of decent components cost? all i have to go by is the ones at best buy as there is no real car audio store around me, other than myer emco if that counts, i think of it as a glorified best buy almost.

A/D/S has gone downhill a bit since Directed bought them out a few years back. They're not the same as they used to be :-( It's unfortunate cause they were a great brand. Decent components can start around $150 or so. Are you willing to use an amp? What's your total budget?

**I should note though that if you can find an older pair of A/D/S's, you'll probably be very happy with them.

i'd be willing to use an amp. i'd rather get a set of very efficient components so that i wouldn't need to purchase a very high power amp to power them. also i most likely wouldn't be able to purchase both at the same time so the components would need to atleast be able to function off the HU power for a little. i could probably go 200 no more than 250. but i'd like to stay under 200 if possible. but if the added money would give me a far superior set of speakers i may consider more.

Check your PM's. What is your budget for an amp? We can probably find you a nice one on eBay or SonicElectronix for not too much.
