I'm about to install an amp in my car. I was wondering if I could put the fuse close to the amp instead of close to the battery on the power wire. Would this be a bad thing to do? |

Very bad that defeats the purpose of the fuse, to protect the wire. If you don't put a fuse near the battery and the wire shorts it WILL burn, likely starting a fire..... |

yeah dude, i didn't understand this properly for a while myself. i thought the fuse was there to protect the amp but its not its there more for the overall safety of the car and battery. |

if your not running mecca car audio competitions than just put the fuse by your battery. if you are running shows you must place the fuse 18 inches from your amp. |
