been awhile since I've had to post here...

I have a Pioneer DEH6800MP. I use an aux plug (with the adapter b/c the input is smaller than the traditional one) to connect my mp3 player to the front. Somehow, the freaking jack snapped in half. Half of the actual jack is stuck in the cd player input. I REALLY like listening to my mp3 player, and I'm trying to avoid having to drop more money on another HU. Basically I'm asking if anybody has any experience with taking these head units apart successfully? If I can find a way to get the top half of the plug out, i can still use the HU. I will attach pics (sorry took them with treo cell phone)

Does anybody know if there is another plug in the back? I'd slide out my deck, but I'd have to take apart my entire console.

almost all pioneers have aux in the back and i can't make out where the jacks snapped off at, is it snapped off next to the knob and track/seek button? if there is enough stickin out just use needle nose pliars grab the broken chunk and pull it out. even if u dissasemble the face ur not getting access to the jack the jack housing is contained and soldered to the main board. ur just not going to bee able to open it and acces it like you want. ur best bet get a high powered magnet or needle nose and pull it out. or by pass it and wire to the aux on the back, look in ur instruction book it will tell u if it features 2 aux inputs. if you don't have it look it up on pioneer.com
