ok see i had a memphis 16st1000d like 2 years ago n i was gonna sell it to this kid so i hooked it up for a sec in his car n he stuck his bass boost knob in it from a pyle amp and my memphis started making this loud like whistle sound then it started smokin n broke n i wasnt sure if it was his bass knob or the fact he had like 12 gauge power wire n he cranked it up real high

i would say the little pwer wire but that just my opinion, 12 gauge is small for that amp, was the wire really hot? and see if all the pins line up on the bass knob it may work

i suggest not using a bass knob at all, i've learned that turning it up it will give you a better chance of clipping
