jl 500/1 amp with a PG xenon 10" uhm i was told bass boost on amp isnt used because it causes problems and can blow subs? i think it can handle it but i dont want to wreck it how can i test it?????????

Bass boost = clipping = bad

In terms of clipping, turning bass boost way up and turning gain way up have the same effect which is to easily blow subs.


Not only that, it sounds bad. It creates a peak at one frequency which is the opposite of what you want, a flat response.
