my buddy is sellin me his kenwood 1800 wat amp for like 60 bucks to push two 2 ohm alpine type r's but he said if its not hooked up right it will over heat he said he would hook it up. but my brother has my set up but his type rs are 4 ohm and he started with a kenwood amp and it overheated and such for him but no anyone else who used it. what should i do? |

what are the voice coils on the subs? 4 ohm what? 4 ohm dvc? 4 ohm single coil? anyway, without model numbers of sub and amp, and some basic info. i would say yes it can, or no it cant be done. |

well, if they are dvc 2's wire each sub up to 4 ohms, then down to 2 ohms on the amp, and you should be fine. If the subs are dvc 4"s wire each dsub down to 2 ohms, then up to 4 on the amp. |

well, with out amp specs, ahhh ya. it will be fine. if the the subs are dvc2 it will be even better. Just dont wire the subs to a 1 ohm load. that amp will not do welll at 1 ohm. So stay at 2 or above. |
