I quit playing WoW and have decided to get back into car audio so i have a question:
Vehicle - 4 door SUV
Would you go with 2 sets of 2-way components
or
1 set of components in front door and 1 pair of midbass in back doors?
Looking at either 2 sets of CDT ES 620s
or
1 set of CDT ES 620 and 1 pair of CDT ES6 midbass
(both solutions will be sharing an Audiocontrol 6xs xover)

I wouldnt get 2 sets of comps I would stick with a good coaxial I went with midbass in my rav 4 and was disapointed.

do not get coaxile speakers, and dont worry about putting speakers in the rear. you dont hear them.
whats your budget for speakers? are you going to run them off the headunit or are you planning on buying an amp to run them? |

Abarca, did you even bother to ask if he plans on having passangers in the rear?? You are right if he does not need rear speakers if there wont ever be passangers back there but... if there is they suffer especially if the sub or subs are in the back the passangers do not hear any highs at all my system sounds like crap in the back seats because of the " do not get coaxile speakers, and dont worry about putting speakers in the rear. you dont hear them." Just something to think about. |

I have been entertaining the idea of a midbass in the rear doors and a tweeter set in either the front dash or rear pillar...gonna start a different thread for the tweeter question tho...thanks for replies here. |

hey heck your PM's I sent you one. But as long as the rears are a rear fill and not a rearstage you're fine. But why put midbass drivers in the rear, you want midbass up front near you to enhance your frontstage. But Pm me Invictuz. |

i will have rear passengers but not often.
My goal is sound quality and a "full" sound (too often i see installs that are all highs and lows with almost no mids).
To this end i am considering the 3 way ES series...and maybe a midbass under the front seats.
i already have all the amps i need (pair of RF301m mono, pair of RF301x 4channel and a pair of Orion 2500d mono).
My head unit is a bit old and may get replaced; alpine 9831 |

i only have front speakers in the front and they can be heard from the rear seats OVER my subs, i send them 150x2... set up your front stage right and all will be good. |
