ok i have always used subwoofertools .com to get port area for tuning frequency but i want to know how to figure it out on my own anyone have a simple formula to go by

I like to use linearteam to check the vent mach with the power im using to judge if im using enough port area in my slot port designs...a vent mach of no more than 10 is what I try to go by (not less than 16 like they say)
